I am a New Zealand professional business development specialist, facilitator and a professional speaker to small and medium business owners and managers, helping them grow and develop their enterprises. I have practised in functional areas such as sales, marketing, and business operations. My focus with business owners has been to facilitate them creating their business vision and goals and the development of strategies to fulfil that vision.
Experience
Prior to Better Business Strategies coaching, I obtained a B.Com degree and have enjoyed an accounting background having been a partner in an accounting firm overseas. It is here that the love for coaching was aroused as many business owners wanted more from their accountant than just the compliance issues. The accounting background gives me an edge in that I understand the needs of business owners to interpret financial information and act on it. Many business owners do not include financial analysis as part of their regular business reviews which ultimately leads to business problems. With my structured way of assisting business owners in this regard I have assisted many business owners to understand their business better. I have helped several businesses identify why they are in business and focused them on where they should be aiming to achieve their goals. I have successfully helped start-ups to identify their target market and shown them some effective selling techniques. I have also helped an accountant to grow his business by at least 100% over a period of time. Other business owners have also seen exceptional growth when I had been working with them. A simple strategy session has already generated over $400,000 in sales for one client and is still growing. My take on business development
There are periods when it is critical for people to get the best from themselves and the prevailing circumstances. I am passionate about working with individuals, teams and organisations as they optimise their productivity and results during these periods. Why business development help? I have also coached sporting teams and has achieved international success. I Have the passion of coaching to convey the required message at the right time to the individual or team.
Education
I have spent thousands of dollars on educating myself and have teamed up with Results in Business Institute. This organisation offers all the information needed. I have also attended courses or seminars involving Brian Tracy, Derek Gehl, Yanik Silver, Paul J Meyer, Chris Howard and Taki Moore. I am also a member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand.
